AUSTRALIAN BRAIN CANCER MISSION (ABCM)
The Australian Brain Cancer Mission is a national $126.4 million investment working to improve survival, quality of life and care for children and adults diagnosed with brain cancer — with the long-term goal to ultimately defeat the disease.
As a proud Mission funding partner, the Robert Connor Dawes Foundation has committed $1.25 million over five years to help advance Mission priorities. Together, we’re working to:
-
Improve patient survival, quality of life and care experiences
-
Advance understanding of brain cancer biology
-
Increase equitable access and participation in clinical trials
-
Expand research platforms and emerging technologies
-
Improve healthcare services
-
Build researcher capacity and excellence
-
Strengthen partnerships between academia, industry, community and charities
Our Head of Research, Dr Kim Wark, served on the Mission’s Expert Advisory Panel from April 2024 until its conclusion in April 2025. The panel provided strategic advice to government, revising the Mission’s Roadmap and Implementation Plan to guide future investment in brain cancer research and care.
