This is the tenth year that Beon Energy Solutions, Next Generation Electrical, Citipower & Powercor and friends have been entering teams into the Surf Coast Century event with more than $200k funds raised for charities that are dear to our hearts and the continuation of the Alfie Chivers Research Fellowship. The Alfie Chivers Research Fellowship, which we collectively helped establish, has continued to expand and aims to establish methods for treatment of rare, low-survival childhood brain tumour models. An example of these, have been published in the March 2023 edition of scientific journal, Cancer Cell. Each donation supports researchers in Melbourne to further understand and better treat brain tumours, including earlier detection, surgery and post-surgery treatments.
Surf Coast Century - The basics:
When: Saturday 12 September 2026, from 6am for Leg 1 with the teams finishing between 4.30pm and 7.00pm.
What: Teams of 4 completing 20-30km each with a total of 100km along beaches, across cliff tops, through forests and trails between Anglesea, Jan Juc and Airey's Inlet.
