Music Therapy Resource Grant Spotlight: Beth

19 Oct 2023

16-year-old Beth was diagnosed with a pilocytic astrocytoma brain tumour and was loaned a steel tongue drum to help her cope during treatment in hospital.

The drum became a real source of comfort and calm – but once she was discharged, she no longer had access to it.

Enter the RCD Foundation Music Resource Grant.
Thanks to this grant, Beth is now the proud owner of her very own Hapi Bell Steel Tongue Drum – and the music hasn’t stopped.

In cases where regular music therapy isn’t possible, we’re delighted to offer our Music Resource Grant, helping young people access instruments, experiences and resources that bring the benefits of music into their everyday lives.
