Celebrating 50 Years of Music Therapy in Australia

20 Oct 2025

Our team was proud to attend and support the 50th Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA) Conference, celebrating the incredible power of music in care, healing, and research.

Music Therapy Manager Annette and Music Therapist Megan presented their inspiring work, while Liz took the spotlight before the international keynote speaker. Our Head of Research, Dr Kim Wark, was impressed by the calibre of research and innovation showcased throughout the conference.

We were also honoured to sponsor the international keynote speaker, Professor Wendy Magee, whose presentation was a highlight of the event.

A special moment for our team was meeting AMTA founder Denise Grocke, whose vision and leadership since 1975 continue to shape the field of music therapy today.

The RCD Foundation is proud to champion music therapy as a vital part of care — helping children and young people with brain cancer experience moments of joy, connection, and healing through the power of music.
